Dan Funderburgh

Dan Funderburghs work interests me and inspires me a lot as his work is mainly pattern repetitive work that he uses for wallpaper deigns.
If you look closely his work is actually of things that we think of as negative/ugly objects and transforming them into a floral feminine design.

Will Cotton

I have a keen interest in Will Cotton's work as I like the realistic but magical paintings he produces, his work consists of candy, famous/female models and nutidy. Therefore I like the softness of his work it's enjoyable to look at and magical. The colors he uses mostly are pinks and yellows, candy colours which I also love.

J.P.King

Jp King works primarily in the mediums of collage, text, print-based multiples and occasionally with relational/installation-based projects. Focusing heavily on story-telling techniques that attempt to unpack popular Canadian & American mythologies in whimsical and historically slippery ways. I love his work as he takes magazine cuttings making them look abstract by adding unusual rare things to them to make a complete photo.
I have taken inspiration from him and done some work myself. (Below)

My 3D sculpture

Inspired by Richard Sweeney I created a fashion piece to go over the shoulder by using different media like paper, string, wire, canvas, tape and black bin liner. The shapes included in my piece are mostly inspired from the work of Richard Sweeney. His work is also unusual as I have tried to create that element in my own work also.

Richard Sweeney

I find Richard Sweeneys work amazing as he makes sculptures entirely out of paper, I like the different shapes included in his work. It's interesting to look at and also elegant to look at and can be used in many different ways.

Kehinde Wiley

I love the fact that Kehinde contrasts violence with elegance as he uses background of elegant wallpapered patterns to differ from the foreground which involves a typical stereotype of a 'gang' member. I love the colours involved and the patterns. The idea that contrasting elegance with violence is interesting as it could be sending a message to say don't judge people as they could be very different to what we assume.

Stuart Mcalpine Miller

I love how Stuart Miller uses art to send a message out that the women in magazines arnt realistic, he represents this by combining models with cartoons. I love the contrast and colours that he has used in his work.
Stuart uses a range of different vibrant colours and techniques in his work.
